2. Products could be counterfeit-just like fake handbags are no good, neither are fake hair products
3. Products could be tampered with and possibly contaminated with bacteria-There were some Paul Mitchell products back in 2003 that were counterfeit and crawling with bacteria. When they tested them the bacteria were too many to name. YUCK!
4. They cost more,sometimes up to 50% more-and in these times who wants to spend more money?
5. While it's kind of legal it really is the hair care industry's black market- do you want to support a black market? I know I sure don't!
Shareena, what about buying products from ULTA? This was my compromise to buying professional products (it's a little cheaper than the beauty store) but, if they're not the real deal than I'll spend the extra money elsewhere???

Great question. Yes Ulta is fine they are along the same lines as Sephora.

ReplyDeleteThey should be fine as well. if they are carrying the entire line then they are most likley an auth seller. The tip off should be if they have a few products from one line a few products from another etc.

ReplyDeleteShareena, This is Shane From Salt Lake City! I loved meeting your sister and helping her with her hair in your absence! I like explaining to a client that while buying product from Target they are not supporting the education and experiance that we as hairdressers offer them while trying to maintain the hair that we have created. They would only be supporting Target an organization that has not really done anything for them. And with that they should choose to support someone they know!
ReplyDeleteI'm not saying that all the products are fakes, but some are. Others may be the real deal they are just old and expired. If you google "Hair Product Diversion" there is a ton out there on it.
